immigrants in london

london, 01.02.2004 – The inhabitants of the house, in total there are about 20 of them, are forever changing and are renting the rooms without contract. Almost every week a new immigrant arrives or leaves. The money is collected weekly and in cash. The high turn-around of occupants makes it impossible for there to be real deep social ties between them. Nontheless there is solidarity between the tenants, after all they are all in the same boat. Katarzyna (20) came to London in October 2003 with a tourist visa and has applied for a business visa.
